Destroying the Highlands is not the way forward.

We are at the tipping edge, we are teetering on the edge.  One false move and we are gone.

The Highlands will be destroyed, the communities, the wildlife, their habitat. The air, water and land will be polluted.  Precious peatland will be destroyed, trees that have stood for far longer than any of us alive have will be gone for good.  Communities are already being affected and this will continue.  Peoples' way of life will not be the same.

This is not about pylons being ugly, or not wanting sub-stations or BESS nearby. What is being proposed is not about energy for the Highlands, or Scotland, it is about creating income and wealth for large energy companies, and generating energy to transmit to England and beyond.  Scotland has no need for all of this to be sustainable energy-wise.

The Clearances drove people away from their land.  This is worse, it is Nature itself that will not only be displaced but also destroyed.  We keep saying Nature will recover, or that we will re-plant trees where we have cut them down, but that isn't acceptable. For too long countries and big businesses have gone into other countries, created destruction to plunder the resources 'essential' for the production of the latest commodities.  This has to stop NOW.  Every elected representative at all levels who allows this to happen should be fired.  This is not for the good of the people, of the Highlands and of Scotland.  We are on the edge, we must step back.
