Loch Brora is beautiful the way it is. They should not be considering spoiling it with pylons. It should be unthinkable to allow it. Energy has to be produced closer to where it is needed and I fear the industrialisation of the highlands with wind farms and pylons and substations will only become more and more oppressive as this round of planning for 400GHz pylons will surely be followed by more. And more windfarms which require greater capacity still from pylons.
The fact that they are not even willing to upgrade the capacity of existing pylon corridors but slapping another line of pylons down tells us there is no real concession to local concerns over the impact on our environment. They say we are NIMBYers but the highlands offer the whole country a place a beauty and peace increasingly hard to find further south. It needs to be cherished for what it is.
