The wanton destruction of landscape, wildlife, ecology, heritage, culture and our country's future breaks my heart. There is no long term benefit to anyone from this aside from lining the pockets of greedy, amoral manipulators. There will be no going back after species die out, the land is ruined and people cleared.
The selfish short-sightedness of this would be beyond belief, but there is so much evidence of humankind's determination to self-destruct that nothing surprises me any longer.
My objections to plans for Lewis have been fruitless as our elected representatives have already been bought off. I am so sad for the whole of Scotland, but our government is complicit with Westminster and has betrayed us.
