I have been a resident of Brora twice in the last 60 years and hope to be again. This is one of the extra special places in the area. Queen Victoria’s luncheon cottage is sadly long gone but the marvellous views from all points along the road and from the hills on both sides of the loch are timeless.
Often I’ve sat for hours watching ravens, buzzards and other birds in this exact location. The beautiful views across the loch towards the hills on the other side just as it’s basically looked for thousands of years with deer passing through.
Only the old broch and the farm with the gentle calling of cattle a forgiving introduction of humanity. This proposal if it gets approved will destroy the whole ambience.
It’s definitely the most visually destructible place to site the power lines.
