Scarring my favourite place on earth!

I have visited Brora all my life, which now has reached 58 years. I have been a member of the Loch Brora Angling Club for many years and am on the committee. My words are mine alone, undoubtedly some of my angling friends will have their own say.

Loch Brora is one of the most stunning, beautiful places I know of. My ashes will be scattered under the stunning tree that sits on the bank of the middle narrows. Looking seaward from that spot, shines a light on Carrol Rock, where I have seen Golden Eagle, Buzzard and even a White Tailed Sea Eagle.

The thought of this stunning landscape being scarred for evermore by high voltage cabling and huge pylons disturbs me greatly. In my mind, anyone who has ever visited the banks of Loch Brora and travelled the road towards Balnacoil, could not fail to be impressed by the scenery. In my mind, anyone who has done this would be bitterly disappointed to return to the area and see the proposed pylons and cables spoiling the vista. I can only begin to imagine how devastating it would be to those living in and around Brora. I say the foregoing without need to highlight some of the likely dangers posed to wildlife, particularly birds.
