SSEN's entire proposal to ‘reinforce’ transmission from Spittal to Beauly and beyond, is a greed-driven, wholly unnecessary land grab. SSEN has no interest in anything other than generating limitless wealth from this dreadful scheme which would trash the north east Highlands for ever.
To further this despicable ambition, SSEN is feverishly dangling a growing portfolio of “community benefits” before the impressionable. These are no more than bribes - ranging from improved hill roads, to supporting our very universities.
The implied scale of such lures is an indicator of the obscene profits expected by this company, which is backed by both the Westminster and Scottish governments, neither of whom has the slightest interest in the future of this area.By changing all associated legislation as rapidly as possible, both governments plan to forge ahead, and dispense with democracy.
